About the Role
Base Location: Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK or Ireland sites, which includes but is not limited to:- Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Reading, Havant, Belfast or Dublin.
Salary: £121,800 - £182,600 + car / car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role
Reporting to the Deputy General Counsel in tandem with reporting lines and accountability to the Thermal Executive Committee (“TEC”), this role will act as the senior legal partner in Thermal, overseeing and supporting the timely delivery of legal support to enable delivery of Thermal and Group strategy. The main responsibilities of the role will include but are not limited to;
- Understanding the key challenges in the energy sector and in particular the Thermal energy sector and business strategy and Legal's role in its delivery and success.
- Lead on key Thermal projects, joint ventures, commercial contracts and corporate advice including, construction contracts and transactional support for M&A.
- Lead and support business leaders through provision of clear direction based on the Thermal strategy.
- Oversight of the team to ensure efficient management of work concurrently on a variety of projects, effectively prioritising team workloads under demanding deadlines and providing accurate and timely reporting to the DGC.
- Propose imaginative, appropriate solutions and implement innovative business improvements.
You have
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Excellent people leadership/management experience with clear experience of operating within multi–functional project teams, and exposure to senior management and decision making.
- Knowledge of the UK Energy industry or similar.
- A solicitor or barrister with considerable years PQE with a demonstrable track record in producing high quality and effective legal advice.
